About us

Meadowbank is a new Church of Scotland congregation formed from the union of London Road Church and Holyrood Abbey Parish Church.

The next service will be on:

Sunday at 11am
83 London Road

There's also a prayer meeting at 2.30pm on Wednesday

Please come along and join us as we seek to discover fresh ways of serving the local community and bringing the good news of God's love to our area.

Everyone welcome!

Easter Greetings

Working with Abbeyhill Baptist, Greenside Parish & St Margaret's Episcopal, we handed out lots of hot cross buns and Easter eggs on Easter Road to wish people a Happy Easter. We also gave out cards advertising local services during Easter week.

Stanley Brook

Our locum minister is Rev Stanley Brook. Stan recently retired as minister for Newport Parish Church and is helping us out while we recruit someone to be our minister full-time. He leads our Sunday services, visits members at home and in hospital, and takes funeral services for people in our parish. We're glad to have him with us!

Building a church

During our first service on 5th February 2017 we wrote down our hopes and dreams for building a new church and this was the result:

There are many things we would like to be but, from what was written, it's clear that:

  • We want to be welcoming and growing.
  • We want to spread God's love and light in our community.
  • We want to share the good news of Jesus.
With God's help, we're going to give it a go!
